Richard Kohn, a principal in the firm's Commercial Finance group, spoke with SFNet about chairing the Secured Finance Network's new International Finance and Development Committee. The committee was set up in recognition of the increasing importance of cross-border lending to many of SFNet’s members. It includes six task forces overseeing Data Collection, Reserve Study, Advocacy, Education, Outreach and Monitoring Development.
The committee will also judge the new SFNet Cross-Border Lending Essay Contest, which is sponsored by Goldberg Kohn. The contest seeks essays on any aspect of cross-border finance by SFNet member firms. Said Mr. Kohn, "I think it’s a great way for young employees to make an important contribution to our Association and our industry, and at the same time to receive some real recognition."
A member of SFNet’s Executive Committee, Richard previously served as Co-General Counsel of SFNet, represented SFNet at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law and taught cross-border lending at The University of Chicago Law School.
